A lifelong computer nerd and language lover, Daniel graduated from Stanford University in 1992 with degrees in Computer Science and Japanese. He has lived in Japan for over three and a half years, speaks and reads Japanese fluently, has reading knowledge of French, Spanish, and German, and has studied bits and pieces of another half-dozen languages, including Chinese, Hebrew, and Arabic. He worked as a trainer and programmer at Interleaf Japan from 1994 through 1996, and more recently as a video game developer, where he helped create the core technology behind several best-selling games, and managed teams of up to 22 people. WordChamp is the most recent product of decades of creating language learning tools for his own use.
