Conventus undequinquagesimus festo Sancti Stephani (scilicet die 26 Ianuarii) apud Taniam in Campo Picto habitus est. Aderant praeter Taniam ipsam Iosephus, Ioanna et Iohannes. Carmina festiva canebantur, fabulae de Nativitate Christi e Evangeliis extracta recitabantur, cena a Tania ipsa peritissima parata consumebatur. LATIN EXAMS IN HONG KONG.
Propono nos iterum aut die 16 aut die 23 menis Ianuarii in caupona Basmati in insula Honcongo convenire. Quam celerrime, quaeso, me certiorem facite utra dies vobis magis placeat.
Our 49th meeting took place on St. Stephen’s Day (i.e. 26 January) at Tanya’s place in Kam Tin. Those attending, apart from Tanya herself, were Joseph, Jane and John. Proceedings included the singing of carols, reading out the Gospel accounts of the Nativity and eating the dinner that Tanya had expertly prepared. .We discussed the reasons why it is difficult to believe that the Romans conducted a census in the way that Luke describes and Latin examinations that students are able to take in Hong Konmg. If you want to know the details you should read the final three pages of the attached file, c.t. QUESTIONS ARISING (III). When you have downloaded the file to your computer, the earlier version should be deleted. Also attached is the file LATIN EXAMS IN HONG KONG.
I suggest that we meet again on either 16 or 23 January at the Barmati restaurant on Hong Kong island. Please let me know as soon as possible which day you prefer.
